Individual Psychotherapy
Choosing a therapist in the Washington metro area can be an overwhelming experience. Since your improvement will be directly influenced by finding a therapist you feel a connection with, it is important to pay attention to how you feel during your search. I believe my job is to help establish a trusting relationship with you, so that you feel comfortable sharing what you need to, to work through the problems you are experiencing. My hope is to provide you with a better understanding of who you are, what is getting in the way of being more satisfied with life, and what interpersonal dynamics you bring into relationships. I practice from a scientist-practitioner model, which means that I use the latest research to inform my practice of individual and group therapy. My practice consists of students, career oriented professionals, and dedicated stay-at-home moms who are struggling with symptoms related to:

My practice consists of students, career oriented professionals, and dedicated stay-at-home moms who are struggling with symptoms related to:
- overachievement (perfectionism, unrealistic expectations, pressure, not feeling adequate enough, second guessing, work-life balance)
- stress related to the workplace (personality tensions, unsettling work events, workplace trauma, issues related to returning from overseas)
- leadership or other issues that may arise for women who work in traditionally male dominated professions (CEO's, law enforcement, military)
- challenges related to identity development and/or genuine expression of one's sexual orientation
- anxiety (bothersome worry about what others think of you, worry about your future, trouble making decisions)
- adjustment to life's transitions or unforeseen hardships (i.e., loss, trauma, grief, difficulty finding a partner, divorce, starting over)
- stress related to being or feeling different
- depression
