Individual therapy is an excellent tool for developing self-reflection and symptom management, but group therapy allows us to explore how we impact others, practice relationship skills, and manage the reactions we have to other people with the therapist present.
Specifically, group therapy:
Gives us feedback on how we impact others
Teaches us how to give feedback to others
Teaches us adaptive relationship skills
Helps anxious, uncertain people find their voice
Helps lonely people feel more connected and lovable
Helps people see their strengths and feel likable
Provides a space to share your insights and have a positive impact on others
Normalizes shameful feelings -- we all have things we do not like about ourselves
